After the last set of elections in May, the Village was notified that because our front access ramps did not meet ADA standards, we would no longer be accepted as a place where voters could cast their ballots.

The Village Council and several key members jumped into action to provide a solution and to make the building entrance more accessible. We are fortunate to have so much know-how within the Village as well as such big hearts to make this happen. Although there were many who contributed, two key players were Jim Virts and Mark Sanders. They were able to research the standards for the ADA and install both a ramp and a parking pad that more than comply with the standards they have set forth. Here is the project in action!

And here is the finished product!!

We just can't say thanks enough for all the thought and caring that went in to this project. It's the spirit of coming together, donating time and know-how and finding solutions to the problems that are presented that make me so proud to be part of this community!
